What are we up to now?

Always thinking of possibilties to raise the energy level our live set, the Adani&Wolf Soundsystem, we came up with what seemed a like a great idea on that moment.

Live elements in our set a very important to us. The combination of tight powerful electronics and organic energy of live instruments and vocals is a very strong one! The best of both worlds, so to speak. That means for our soundsystem that, apart from playing the turntables, we ourselfs play several instrumens live (Rhodes, guitar, Bluesharp, organ, melodica etc.) and we always invite one or two great solo musicians, like a vocalist and/or a saxplayer.

So what was this briljant idea we had? Well, we came to the conclusion that a powerful addition to all the above mentioned live stuff would be great. What if, at some point in the set (like towards the end) we both would jump from behind the mixing desk or the Rhodes piano with two big Djembe's around our necks and start banging away. Wouldn't that have super impact??

Three problems (or challenges:-))

- we need a special track for this act

- we don't have Djembe's

- we don't really know how to play them

The first one is the most easy. Since many of the tunes we play in our set, are of our own making, we just go into the studio and produce a great banger, as we actualy just did. More about that later.

The second one is also not to hard to solve: just go to a shop and buy one. That's exactly what Adani did on my birthday, he bought me a present: a Djembe. While giving it to me he used the words : go practice!

Because we stand on the position that in priciple we can learn to play any instrument, that's precisly what I have been doing the last few weeks: banging my new Djembe!

Now over that track we need. We just finished making a first version yesterday. It's a smashing track, not yet finished but al the elements are there, and we have high hopes for it, think together with the live drums it will be massive! If you want you can check the track out, we've uploaded it on our site (free music). The working title is 'Djembe Workshop'. Have a little taste beforehand!

We've been working on it hard and fast because we want all of this ready before we going to do our little tour at the Costa del Sol, which will take place in july. So, back to banging those skins now!!
